SD card reader
How it tests
Waits for a card disk to appear with a size: an mmcblk disk (PCIe readers) or Apple's USB card reader gaining a size. External readers are ignored. Nothing is read from the card.
How it decides
Supported: a card disk with a size. Partial: the card is seen but no disk within 10 s. Failed: the tester says nothing shows up (after 15 s).
How sure it is
A disk with a size is strong evidence.
On a real Mac
- On a MacBook Air (13-inch, Mid 2012): a 4.0 GB card on Apple's USB reader.
What could mislead it
- Could pass when it shouldn'tThe card's size reads but data reads fail.
